Here’s What We’ve Been Up to at Prospa

Over the last two years, Prospa has been consistent in its mission to power every single African entrepreneur in building financial prosperity. Our commitment to this mission has driven our efforts in the last few years to expand our offerings to include other essential business and banking solutions for the modern entrepreneur.

Our services have moved beyond managing cash flow to include employee and customer relationship management. From helping business owners open a business account in 5 minutes, our members can now set up an online store on Prospa, automate book-keeping and accounting needs, facilitate international transfers for their businesses in 10 countries, among many other services.

Our efforts to scale our offerings has led to exciting developments in the last few months. While we will be rolling out more announcements in the coming days, here’s what we’ve been up to so far.

What have we been up to?

  • In March 2021, we made it into the prestigious Y Combinator accelerator program. In addition, we made it to number 1 on Tech Crunch’s favourite companies from Y combinator’s W21 Demo day. 
  • At the moment, we have grown (and still growing) our team to enable us to provide a seamless and awesome experience for our members.
  • We’ve rolled out product updates which are already in use by members but we will be announcing in more detail in the coming days. For example, you can now delete sub-accounts and create custom invoices in line with your brand.

What to expect from us

We know you’ve missed us on socials and can’t wait to engage with you soon across our channels. Here’s what to expect from us going forward:

  • Community

We will be increasing our community-building initiatives through Prospa Campus on Slack and WhatsApp. There will be more opportunities for members to connect through online spaces, live events, co-working spaces and more.

  • Loans

Members will soon be able to access loans for their businesses to facilitate business growth.

  • Upgrading web experience

We are improving our web app to create a smooth user experience for members on all devices.

  • Virtual and Physical cards

We will be rolling out virtual and physical cards soon for business owners to further enable easy management of business transactions.

To say the least, the last few months have been exciting for us at Prospa. But this is a natural outcome of growth. In the next few months, we will focus on scaling and building a community for our members. 

In keeping with our mission, we are doubling down on providing educational resources and helpful content to help business owners start and scale their businesses. We will be collaborating with experts and seasoned entrepreneurs to provide support for our members and educational resources they can use to succeed. Look out for our articles, webinars and courses.
